WEEKEND JOTTINGS 'COS I'M HAPPY
Well, sunny Brazil continues to be sunny and the rain comes down in buckets, the big ones. People anywhere near the rivers get washed out of house and home. They are like Wincy Spider though and clean it all up and start all over again when the sun comes out.
I've been where I am for 30 years now. though, and apart from once when the water came in the back door while I was mopping it out the front door we have been
fine.
Last Thursday I received two translations to do, in my e-mail box. One of a single page I sent back quite soon, content that I was doing my bit.
Next morning I had a call about the second one. The lady asked if it was ready. Huh? My best speed on a good day is about 8 pages. All those shipping terms and port procedures are not always in my brain-box and when they are it takes time to dig them out so they come up front to be recognized.
Anyway one of the Association's clients wanted the first bit for some undisclosed urgency so I sent off 8 pages and said the rest would follow on Monday..
Lucky for me Monday was yet another Brazilian holiday - They have lots of them thank goodness.
I laboured away over the weekend, with only time out for a nap and lunch and a film and a turn around the garden and feeding the carp. (Those up on the header of my
Facebook page).

Tuesday, as in this morning, I leapt out of bed at 6.00 and was soon hard at it doing the revision. Port for Pot and other finger faults.
Then, happily content with myself I sent off the 32 pages.
And then Jane phoned.........
(Aside... Jane as we know is my daughter)She works in a Shipping Agency now and the lady mentioned above had just distributed my efforts to all and sundry on her Shipping Agency associates distribution list..
Jane, bless her cotton socks, said to all the people in her office.
"My Dad did that!"
Oh and the banks are open again after a 12 day strike.
