One Way to Cope With Changes in Your Life

Change is happening on a constant basis in our lives.  We cannot "get back to our normal life"because life does not go
backwards.  What does "Normal" really mean?  For everyone normal is different.  Change seems to have moved forward
so quickly, especially in technology, science and health.  Even in job hunting, change is affecting the way we apply for a position.  Ads seldom have phone numbers or addresses.  In today's world email and fax are the preferred ways to send your job application and resumes to the prospective employers.  If you do not have a computer connected to the internet it is almost like living in cave man days because you get left behind very quickly.  Health Professionals are now suggesting our diets return to the way we ate before preservatives, additives and fast foods.

If you are experiencing many changes in your life you may be feeling stressed and overstimulated both emotionally and physically.  Some people welcome change and greet it enthusiastically.  Some people resist it as much as they can.   In both instances, whether change is resisted or embraced, we are reacting mentally and physically.  Physically you may be feeling burnt out and achy all over.  Mentally you many be feeling tired, confused or unable to focus.  We all seem to have different coping mechanisms when it comes to coping with changes in life.  One way to cope is listed next.

You may like to experience meditation to energize your life.  Meditation is a way to ease  the over stimulation of  today's fast paced environment. There are many books on the market on the subject of meditation, however,  you can meditate without them.  You don't know how to meditate you say.  It is quite an easy relaxing process.  Let me get you started.  Turn off all machines (yes your cell phone to), you don't want to be interrupted.  Find yourself a comfortable, darkened area to sit.  Close your eyes, take five or six deep in and out cleansing breaths and relax.  You do not need to make any noises or words if you do not want to.  Just let your mind go.  Just let it wander. Don't force any thoughts to go or come, think whatever you like, however, don't stay on any one thought.  Gently let everything become still and relaxed.  Start out with fifteen (15) to thirty (30) minutes each and every day.  Extent it to more time if you can.  This is your time, you owe it to yourself!  When you open your eyes, sit quietly for a few minutes before moving.  How do you feel?  Refreshed?  Energized?  This meditation period will develop over time.  Since we are all becoming desensitized and overstimulated  from the changes, noises and chaos in our lives you will find this thirty (30) minutes will restore your peace, your mind, your body and your soul.  Hopefully you will look forward to this time and it will help you cope with changes in life.
