I've been in the Internet Marketing business for eight years. It took me six of those years to get past the hype and junk programs and begin to generate any income of significance. I've stopped chasing the shiny objects and buckled down to the grueling task of making money on line.
WHEN I STOPPED MY QUEST FOR EASY AND WENT TO WORK, THINGS CHANGED
Today I know what's worth doing and how to do it. I also know exactly where to waste my time. That's the easy part. It's really depressing to have to say this, but today I'm one of the fewer than 1% of those trying, to actually make a decent living on line. I'm way under seven figures. And I need to work 10 to 14 hour days to do it. Yeah, that includes sundays.
I've looked at and bought countless of those enticing programs that promise untold millions for fifteen minutes work every day. I tried the "done for you" programs that all had strings tied to them and failed to produce. I bought into all the "secret" systems, the "breakthroughs," the "discoveries," and all the other hype designed to get you excited and turn over your hard earned cash for junk.
While I was learning this business, I believe I helped at least one guy buy himself a new Maserati. He enticed me into his program by showing me screenshots of his Clickbank income. Oh, the screenshots were genuine enough. It's just that the income he was getting was derived from selling his junk to pigeons like me.
I did some really tedious and difficult detective work on this one because I knew by this time I was in the process of learning and the more information and detail I could get, the closer I would get to begin earning my own on line income. I knew this was possible. I just didn't know how to do it yet. But I was now at the stage of studying the masters. A word of advice here: Don't fall into the trap of getting yourself "mentored" by one of these turkeys. Often they're making less money than you are and the advice they give is sheer drivel. And it could lead you along the road to complete disaster. You need to be your own mentor. Yep; you're on your own. Believe it.
Throwing Money At Junk Won't Help You
What my research into this guy revealed, and this then extended right into a dozen other programs I'd been suckered into buying, is that these "gurus" all had staff to build, maintain, sell, and operate their programs. The old adage, "it takes money to make money" holds true in the IM game too. But throwing money away on junk isn't going to bring you any closer to success.
Well, I couldn't afford staff. I was staff. So I ended up discarding all the shiny objects I'd bought over the years, I dropped all the "breakthrough" programs I was involved with, and began utilizing my time in actually building a business from scratch. I started doing it all the hard way. Sure, I used the knowledge I'd gained from playing around with the junk. It meant working 14 hour days, seven days a week for two years to begin realizing an income I wasn't embarrassed to let my friends know about.
Today I can ease up a bit. But not much. I'm looking forward to the day when I can hire staff and really take this business off. Maybe I'll have someone work up a "secret" program for me that I can peddle to unsuspecting newcomers and maybe they'll buy me a new Maserati.
If you don't want to be among those who are destined to improve my lifestyle, and if you're getting a little older and wiser, you might be ready for the truth in this business, then listen up. There is a program that I recently encountered, that I really wish I had found sooner. Well, maybe not. I may not have been ready for it. If you can stand the truth, and if you're at the point where you're ready to work to achieve success in this business, then go here and get involved. Werner
