Describe your business. What are your customers like?


Our business is a historic and earthy cafe in Nimbin and was originally started during the Aquarius Festival in the sixties about the time of the Vietnam war. 

Nimbin was a sleepy Diary farming community in Northern NSW and group of University students decided to recycle a town and hold a  Festival for peace. 

We have been open continuously  since then with various management teams . Our customers span a wide range as Nimbin is home to many annual festivals 

and is know world wide as a tourist destination nestling in the hills behind the popular Byron Bay and just south of Queensland�s Gold Coast .  




Before making an app, what were the main challenges your business faced?


We faced the challenge of the digital age and how to connect to the wider community . The need to be pinpointed to the passing crowd and to have a focus 

in the local restaurant scene . Nimbin although a village  is home to many and varied food outlets and we needed a little extra to float above the crowd . To allow 

our customers a better access and be able to actively participate in our particular style which has a flavor of its own . We are a sister town to the famous �Woodstock� in the USA�



Why did you decide to make an app for your business? Why did you choose Como?


I decided to make an app for the business because I worked there as a chef many years ago and I will always have fond memories of making breakfasts and dealing 

with the public mostly tourists from all over the World . I live in Bangkok and I saw the writing on the wall mobile devices are taking over and it is very evident here 

as Thailand has one of the best wifi and internet networks I have seen . I looked at many app making companies and what they offered and Como shone out as the 

best choice . Como offered the ability to build an app for free and pay when it is ready to publish fantastic . It gave me the ability to see what I was getting to get 

behind the wheel and drive the app bus . It gave me the ability to show it to my clients in ReV.u mode even before I had paid a cent . Como�s app pages styles and 

navigation are a breeze to use and allowed me to be creative . Como connected with my Rainbow Cafe Face book page where I could further promote using the Como

provided Marketing Genie �Store front Goodies � and �Give away stickers �letting the World know we have a strong digital presence . I know now many people have a cyber arm with a mobile device on it and that is good for developing our restaurant community.  


What can users do with your app? What features are most important, and why?


The first thing is they can find out a little history and the description of our unique like no other cafe that we are . They get a earthy feeling we have outside seating on the pavement and are central in the town and a garden out the back .

Next users can phone in and get food to take out and find our location on the map. We are soon to add more pages with a complete menu but the about us map and Facebook connection and loyalty cards are important to us . Why .. because it gives us a link to our customers and develops strong loyal community and a place to connect a common ground and we are the first in our Village to have this . 


How has your app helped your business overcome challenges and succeed? 


How have your customers responded to your app, what do they like most about it?


The app has created a bridge connecting with  public and established a store front . Our app users now have a feeling of what to expect in the cafe and can be a part of it  . Having an app on our customer

s mobile devices with push notifications is a recipe  for our success . Our customers have responded enthusiastically  to our app and one of the most liked is the ability to connect with the phone at the press of a button and the Facebook connection . We have had many ask for more menu information and that is coming soon . 

Using the analytics for the app we have a growing number of followers world wide . Being and International tourist destination this is important to us and in the short time we have been published we have grown to over 50 users . see attachment .. 


Have you noticed that a particular feature (e.g.: loyalty card, push notifications, e-commerce page) has been especially successful in driving business? If so, do you have any data you can share with us?


The loyalty and push notifications we have not established and e-commerce page as yet and the �Our live album � is a talked about feature that is sure to grow exponentially  as we gain momentum . We have been sending at least two push notifications since we started and the loyalty card has been a regular feature at the coffee machine . 



Do you have any other data showing how you app has helped your business model? If so, please share.


Numerous emails with your responsive company and support that has encouraged me and given me a personal connection to Como. This is one of the most valuable points of Como and I have looked at others you do make me feel a part of something great .
