Living In Bangkok has made my day and early morning rides for breakfast is a daily event . Food is everywhere and very affordable most items costing 35-50 TB ..

To the casual visitor Asia may seem unkempt but this is a totally different culture with very different values . Things that do not need to be touched are not . I see in shops, areas that have not had

a hand laid on them in 50 years, here its more about family and so it is for the basic Thai. I have come to enjoy this after all what is more important, what can make you more content than to know

you are a part of a family. For an older person [I am ] to be remembered and appreciated . The Asian/Thai culture teaches respect for age and this is not some idea thrown together by

the culture out of some egocentric idea .. but and ancient wisdom .. Children are taught this at an early age and it will and does pay off for them in the long run as they will once again be respected by their children in the latter years ..

The self perpetuating cycle of family looking after family ..

Every morning and once again I ride my bike across the most busy peak hour four lanes of traffic . Two in and Two out .. Buses and a continual swarm of scooters motorbikes buses and trucks all heading to a destination ,

all with a purpose . Some times I am asked do I ride across the road ? Well yes I do and am also purposeful and laser focussed . The Soi [side street] is yeesip barht . [28] and a thriving market

of shops selling all manner of Thai food .

Most Thais buy food and take it home . Its almost more expensive to do it any other way .

Here lots of food like the wet dishes are sold in plastic bags done up with a rubber band . It's a small art the way the hot food is put in a bag and sealed with a rubber band . There a several methods used

but the best one is where it is easy for the customer to undo the rubber band . Customers appreciate that .. The bag is folded at the top and then the band is whizzed around and hooked on the top .

Now in all my time I have never seen a bag break they are the strongest and the rubber bands are also . I have tried to stretch one to breaking point but no luck.. I have been living here

for some time now and.continuously diving deeper into the.community and the.culture gaining acceptance this morning was remarkable .it was like the 6 degrees of separation and the

hundred monkey thing all rolled into one .I truly believe that this was partly due to a desire to

SEE differently and a lack of judging what is .I spoke to new people and most impressive as I.crossed the l peak hour traffic I had a short chat with one of Bangkok's finest then he

turned away and with very little warning held up his white gloved hand and abruptly stopped the traffic for the freaking Felang me happy day.

Smiling happy Officers they have a way of dealing with situations but if you are robbing a gold shop the reaction will be swift and possibly fatal for you ... .. This is digressing a little as there is a vast

contrast to situations here in Bangkok from the Soi to the Mall with air conditioning to rival a meat works cool room . This is the Mall Seacon and behind me is the new iceskating rink ..

You can see the ice skating rink and my friend Officer Jack in the Marzocco coffee bar with Mickey and Fatima just opened the shop recently one of my mobile app to be clients .. now back to the Soi..

Here is where we see the true culture of ancient Thailand. Animals here are allowed freedom but with freedom comes responsibility and all animals are relaxed and know that they are a part of

the whole but this said to break the rules will lead to consequences . For instance here it is very seldom you will see dogs fighting although there are many in the streets . Fighting will lead to

the dog having to wear a muzzle or even more drastic measures . Harmony is the key .

My morning spot at the far end of the Soi .. this is my green tea mug and I have already drunk my cafe RON hot coffee the two cost 10TB looking down we see the fresh juice making stand ..

A fresh squeezed juice will cost 40TB and her husband has the barber shop next door where I get my hair cut 80TB and more often a shave with a cut throat razor . There is always a little

trepidation when he tilts the chair back and I expose my throat but I am beginning to relax on that one ..

The juice bar open air . Although it rains a lot in the Monsoon season [now] here they have large umbrellas at least 10 foot across . There must be a market for these in Oz ..

I bought some bananas this morning and once again this is a morning thing . They would be gone by 10.30 am .. and 20TB for a hand is good . The bananas here are really delicious and totally

different to Oz . No gas ripening used I think and even if they are firm when bought will be ready to eat the next day .. Green mangoes are eaten here [not ripe] and dipped in sugar and spice ..

This is the rice shop ..Here rice is the norm not loaves of bread . Each one of those is filled with raw rice and cooked to perfection every day using the evaporation method .

They come out like little rice cakes ten baht will get two and thats sufficient for one ..
