When it comes to online marketing, there are several methods that are very effective in reaching prospects and building relationships. Blogging and vlogging (video blogging) are two well-known methods. However, blog texts have a number of attributes which video and even audio recordings don�t, and all of these attributes will help you in your online marketing endeavors.
1. Scanability (Scan Ability)
Blog visitors can decide if they want to read certain blog texts after they�ve quickly scanned the content. This is not possible with videos where visitors have to view a portions of them before deciding to either continue viewing them or moving on.
2. Search Engine Indexing Capability
Blog texts are very search engine friendly if the written content is original, useful, and is rich with keywords and meta tags. The texts are indexed by search engines which brings traffic to your blog. This is not the case with videos.
3. Content Duplication Facility
Blog texts can be easily scanned and duplicated through a simple copy and paste process. Videos can�t be copied and pasted. They can only be transcrembed in order to be converted into readable texts.
4. Editorial Capacity
Bloggers can proofread and correct mistakes on blog texts. They can edit texts by adding, and cutting content, or by revamping them altogether. Videos have to either be scrapped altogether or done over.
5. Scrollability (Scroll Ability)
Blog visitors can find a specific piece of content by simply scrolling down the page to find the section that they are looking for. Video viewers have to point the cursor somewhere on the video in order to find the general location of the content that they want to review.
Conclusion
These are some of the attributes that make blog texts have over videos; particularly Youtube videos. While creating videos has its advantages, creating blog texts has far greater advantages, and should always be considered as the more worthwhile online marketing system.
