The household family is a
microcosm of society. Just like in society,
the home is
where families
grow and go through the good and the bad times together. Through
all of life�s stages each
family member develops varying sets of relationships
among one another. The way you treat each
other can have a direct affect on all
other aspects of your life and in your social interactions.
The
environments of home and society bonds are strengthened when it is a place of
respect, kindness, consideration, and honesty. The family unit is an essential building block
in
the shaping of society and culture. Household
life requires security, solidarity, structure and
supply just as is needed for
a viable society to thrive and be sustained.
Families
are made up in a variety of combinations, but what remains important is the
home environment
and relationships among its members. Parenting plays an
influential role in creating the home setting.
The parent figure is responsible
for the protection and provision of their children, or any such other
dependents. Children require interpersonal-communication and guidance, plus
kids need to be nurtured
and educated. The decision to start a family through
pregnancy and child birth or by adoption sows the
seeds of parenthood and
family growth. Social development of children helps them learn how to
interact
with others, the world around them and conditions within the home.
Self-respect and respect for others is one aspect of this process, and they expand from communication
basics, to table manners, to how to act when out and about in various situations
and at school. Kids
should be assigned home chores and other fitting responsibilities to help them gain appreciation of
their household appearance and possessions. Home styles
and features can add a splash of glamor
and elegance to the interior and
exterior areas of the family dwelling. But it is not the home that makes
the
family, but rather it is family relationships that make the home.
Knowledge of
kinship, genealogy and family related gatherings can heighten one�s sense of
extended
family links and unity. Entertaining
events provide opportunity for bonding and inject flavor into the
household
family life for as it is said; �Variety is the Spice of Life�. Meal time, cook- outs and table
games to home
entertainment systems and family travel are just a few of the many imaginative
ways to
generate moments of quality bonding.
The wholesome interplay of these components are intended to
produce security, solidarity and structure
within the family household. Community resources provide relevant support
and supply for the home
and family. It is vitally important to be aware of
family resources for employment, food, clothing, shelter,
transportation and
other materials. Schooling, higher
education and situations that require counseling
or medical attention; these
and more are resources which are utilized by members of the family. Ideally,
when relationships and resources are
mingled with genuine love and respect for one another, helps to
form the basis
for a strong and lasting household family foundation.
