As anyone who is involved in social media knows, it can be addictive and waste loads of time as well.

Television Watching

You may have to give up some of your beloved television shows for a while until you are established in your new hobby. If you have chosen to learn a musical instrument, for example, you will need plenty of time to practice. If you are watching television instead of practicing, well then those are the results you will get � mediocre results at best.

A Little Bit of Your Social Time

As with any new endeavor, whether it is a new craft, a musical instrument, or the art and craft of writing, something needs to be put on the side. Giving up a little bit of your social time will reap great rewards. If you are used to going out every Friday night, you could opt to give that up for the first month you are learning your new craft or make it so that you go out every other Friday night instead.

You will notice that the more social time you give up to dedicate to your new hobby, the more successful and enjoyable your new hobby will be thereafter.

After all, if you are looking to have a successful and lucrative hobby, you need to use some self-discipline (especially in the beginning) in order to make those dreams come to fruition.

In the end, you will be more than happy that you gave up a little to gain a lot.
