Welcome to the wonderful world of Facebook marketing. It is truly unlike any other
form of campaign, especially those we're used to. That means everything you've
learned about marketing may not apply to such a campaign, so read on to see which
traditional tips are no longer in play, and which new tips you should keep in mind.
Do not repost any pictures on Facebook that sensationalize tragedy. You may think
there is nothing wrong with sharing a photo that insists people need to like it to
show respect for a crime victim, but it is the total opposite. You will be looked at
as someone that is trying to profit from the bad fortune of someone else.

If you're working on building your fan base, consider using "Like Ads". These are
ads that include a call to action to Like your page right from the ad itself. These
ads seem to be just as effective in the News Feed as they are in the right column,
so play with the placement.
Learn how to target your ads. Do not waste time and money marketing to people who
are not interested in what you are offering. Filter users by age, geography or
gender along with many other characteristics. Facebook makes it very easy to target
your audience, so take advantage of it.
Make regular posts on your Facebook page. Setting up a page, putting in multiple
posts on the first day, and then ignoring the page for the next several months will
do nothing to improve your business. Set up a schedule for posting that meets your
business's purpose for the Facebook page, and stick to it.
Remember that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to Facebook
marketing. Your audience will be more satisfied with less posts if they are treated
to useful information. Posting all day every day is useless if the information you
are posting is not worth anything to your readers.
Think of a good reason why people should become a fan of you or your company. When
you can answer this "why", you are prepared to deliver something to them that'll get
your fans to stick around and become engaged with the brand. Make it the center of
your promotion.
If you want to use Promoted Posts, do so only with your current fan base. When a
non-fan sees "Promoted", they think it's a "Sponsored Ad" and tend not to click on
it. Your current fans won't think that way as they already know who you are and what
you do, and obviously like it.
The image that you choose for your Facebook page can have a big impact on your
success. People will surely notice the picture beside your name before they notice
what you have to say. Use a picture that really catches a reader's attention and
conveys what you are trying to market.
While there are many traditional marketing tips which do apply to marketing online,
including on Facebook, there are a variety of new strategies which you must put to
use to find the greatest success. Nothing is guaranteed, though. One thing that can
be promised is that using the advice in this article will be a huge help.
