Rebates has grown to be increasingly popular within the last few years on many items and surely on electronic things and computers. Incentives of $20, $50 or $100 are not uncommon.

I�ve actually seen items publicised as �free immediately after rebate�. Do these rebates come underneath the heading of �too good to be true�? Some of these do and you'll find �catches� to consider but if you are careful, rebates will let you get some great deals.

The way some sort of rebate works is which you pay the listed price for an item then mail in a form and this bar code for the manufacturer and they send you a refund thus reducing the price of what you purchased the item except with a time delay of a few weeks.

Rule #1. Rebates from reputable companies usually are just fine.

You may be pretty sure you're going to get the promised discount from Best Buy, Amazon or Dell but you should probably not trust in getting one from a company you�ve never heard of. If you want the product and are also OK with paying the value listed then obtain it but don�t trust in actually getting this refund.

Rule #2. Verify rebate expiration days.

Many times products will remain on the shelf of the retailer after this date for sending in the rebate present has expired so make sure date carefully.

Principle #3. Be sure you've got all the forms needed to file for the rebate prior to deciding to leave the keep.

Rebates will more often than not require a form to get filled out, a receipt to the purchase and some sort of bar code.

Principle #4. Back in place your rebate declare.

Make copies of everything you send in for getting your rebate such as the bar code. Stuff gets lost in the mail all the time and if the rebate is made for $50 it�s worth the trouble to back in place your claim.
