What You Need to Know BEFORE You Begin eBay.

So you've decided you want to get started as a new seller on eBay. There are a few things that you really need to know before you go and throw yourself in for the deep end.

What to Sell.

First off, you need to know what it is you're going to sell: what's your speciality? You'll do far better on eBay if you turn into a great source for certain style of products, as people who are thinking about those products will come back to you again and again. You will not get any loyalty or real reputation in the event you just sell rubbish at haphazard.

When you think about things know about sell, there are a few areas to consider. The most important of these should be to always sell what you recognize. If you try to sell something which you don't know anything about then you will never write a good description and sell it for any good price.

You might think you aren't especially interested in anything, but if you think about what kind of issues you usually buy and which websites you go to most often, I'm sure you'll discover some kind of interest. If all else fails mention it to your friends and relations: they'll almost certainly say "Oh, well why not sell�", and you'll slap your forehead.

Out of the things you know enough about, you should then consider which things you might actually get for a adequate price to resell, and how suitable they can be for posting. If you'll be able to think of something of that you are knowledgeable about and it's modest and light enough for postage for being relatively cheap, then that's fantastic!

Don't worry if you think strangely you're selling is too obscure - it isn't really. There's a market for every thing on eBay, even things that wouldn't sell once within a year if you stocked them within a shop. You'll probably do better still if you fill a niche than in the event you sell something common.

If you earn enough money, you should be aware that you're going to have to start out paying tax - this will not done for you. If you choosed to sell on eBay on a new full-time basis, you should probably register as a business.

Prepare Yourself.

There might be ups and downs when anyone sell on eBay. Don't pack it in if something goes a little wrong in your first several sales: the sellers who are successful on eBay will be the ones who enjoy it, in addition to stick at it whatever transpires.

Anyone can sell on craigs list, if they believe in themselves - and if you decide it's not for anyone, then the start-up costs are so low which you won't really have lost anything at all.
