Seeking to help your buyers find your auctions could be a truly daunting task. Most men and women only search eBay by title, not by description, and which means that you only have those 55 characters in the title to cover all the possible key phrases. That's not easy. In this email, I'll give you some pointers.

Don't bother with craigs list cliches: There are plenty of craigs list auction titles that say items like "Super rare camera wow glimpse low price". These are stupid things to set up your title, as no-one might search for them.

Think such as a buyer: If you were seeking your item, then what exactly could you type into that box? If you think maybe it'd help, try searching you to ultimately find someone else selling your current item. What were the first things you thought of typing?

Think like other dealers: Keep an eye on which in turn sellers are doing best with items like yours, and try to copy his or her title styles - if it works on their behalf, it can work for you.

Be specific: You should make sure to write the item's brand and specific model number from the title, as people will often search just for this information. Make sure that you also say exactly what them is.

A Few Examples.

Here's a few examples of good titles. They are real, and they're on eBay today, making their sellers money. Precisely what makes them good?

"Dell Latitude Mobile computer P3 500mhz Notebook PC Computer"

Find out about computers, you'll know instantaneously what this auction is promoting. It has manufacturer (Dell) and products (Latitude), followed by a few technical specifications (P3 500mhz could be the processor speed). Notice also that the title includes the four text 'laptop', 'notebook', 'PC' and 'computer', because the seller wants people looking for any of those words to notice his auction.

"OASIS Don't Believe comprehend CD Album (New)"

This auction for the CD is well formatted: it provides artist name in capital words, followed by the album brand. It then manages to include the two key words 'CD' and also 'album', as well as your message 'new' - that means that anyone seeking 'new oasis cd', 'oasis new album' and the like will find this auction.

"1840 Penny Black stamp, certificate, four margins"

Here's a slightly more obscure one, through the exciting world of stamp accumulating. A penny black is among the oldest and most famous imprints. It uses a few key phrases that collectors will consider crucial: 'four margins' indicates that the stamp continues to be cut out with some margins around it and for that reason isn't damaged, and 'certificate' tells you that the item has the certificate of authenticity - it's really a real penny black. Remember to use every little space to squeeze in as much important information as you're able in the title.

So now that you've written a winning title, you need to start using a great description. The next email will highlight how.
