We keep forgetting that we only have one body and as such, we should take care of it. One of the rule of taking care of your body is to be careful of what you consume.  The body needs nutrition to sustain and keep it going daily.

Below is a "to-do-list" to follow daily to provide proper nutrition:

  • Drink a glass of lemon water first thing in the mornings;
  • Use your juicer/blender! Make a green juice or smoothie;
  • Have a hearty lunch;
  • Prepare a light dinner
Here are some recipes to try:

Classic Green Juice

  Ingredients

2 large kale leaves

1 cucumber

1 apple

2 stalks celery

 Directions

 Process all in a juicer and enjoy!

Avocado Salad in a Pita

A simple, healthy lunch!

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado, mashed (serves 2)
  • diced tomatoes
  • sprouts
  • romaine lettuce
  • chopped celery
  • sliced cucumber
  • shredded carrots
  • fresh lemon juice, or unrefined sea salt (or your favorite dressing)

Directions

  1. Spread pita bread with mashed avocado and stuff with your favorite fresh veggies.

Add lemon juice, or unrefined sea salt, or your favorite healthy salad dressing.


Zucchini Parmesan with Tomato Sauce

 

 


"Zucchini Parmesan, similar to eggplant Parmesan, includes sauteed zucchini in tomato sauce that can be served alongside chicken or fish."

 INGREDIENTS:

 

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 zucchini - peeled, sliced lengthwise,

and sliced

2 teaspoons dried oregano

2 teaspoons dried basil

1 1/2 cups tomato sauce

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

  DIRECTIONS:

 

1.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; saute zucchini until softened, 5 to 10 minutes. Season zucchini with oregano and basil. Add tomato sauce; cook and stir until heated through, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over zucchini mixture.
