I have been following the directions of Darryl Graham, owner and chief administrator of 12 Second Commute, to set up my blog.

I opted for "Standard Layout 3".  That is the same one Darryl selected in the pertinent demonstration video that 12SC members get to see (along with the many other training videos he has and continues to make for us).  I like that it comes with a calendar on the right and my photo on the left.

I picked colours that matched with the orange colour which appears at the top of the window.  I used Autumnal colours -- browns, oranges, and greens, as well as a burgundy red.  It matches a dominant colour in the sweater you probably see me wearing in my photo portrait.

It took me awhile to settle on these settings.  Earlier choices were not well favoured by team mates from whom I sought opinions.  I had a red brick image tile pattern background that Braven said reminded him of school.  When I changed over to the background colour you see there now, the foreground default font was a lime green that nearly blinded Geoff.  Diana, my sponsor, also gave me suggestions for improvement.  Eventually, following the recommendations of my colleagues, as well as much trial and error of various selections of my own, I settled on what you see now.  I'm planning on sticking with it for this blog for the life of it.

After I settled on the layout and design, I attended to the Author section.  I uploaded a photograph and wrote a brief description.  To get the photograph and the title, About the author, to match in width, I had to adjust the dimensions of the image, which I did using a little elementary division and multiplication.  It was easy.

The purpose of this blog, at least for now, is to let you and anyone else interested know about my work with 12 Second Commute.  I joined awhile ago and have sponsored four people on my first level.  One of them has sponsored two others, so they are on my second level.  12SC pays commissions three levels deep, with the largest commission paid on one's first level.  There are many more benefits to 12SC besides the commissions one earns from one's downlines' purchases, and I will get into writing about these other benefits in future blog entries -- probably under a different category heading.

This, as you can tell from the title, is my first "blog post" entry for this web log.  I believe it will be my first of many!
