CNN interviewed some of the people in the line up, and these were people from all walks of life. Young students, to retired senior citizens! You name it and they were there. One that caught my attention was a gentleman who was 55 years old white collar worker who recently lost his job. He was making about $150,000 a year, and now nothing!
His fear was that at his age no company would want to hire him, and the lifestyle that a $150,000 a year salary gave him is now over! Pretty sad when you think about it! You're in the home stretch to retirement, and the track turns to "Quick Sand"!
I started thinking; "Here is a guy who is use to making a good living, and now any hopes he had for a comfortable retirement are all but gone. How many more people like himself does he know? How many people at his job were let go at the same time? How many business contacts did he make over the years? How many of those people are worried about their jobs?"
I was thinking; "This guy has a "Gold Mine of Contacts", and he does not realize it!"
Then I thought; "What a great place to do some Business Card Prospecting!" With people lined up for blocks, all I had to do was start at the top of the line and walk down it passing out my DSP Business Cards. I could just picture it, as I was walking down the line and everyone saw me passing something to the people ahead of them, they would be thinking it had something to do with the interview, and as I walked along they would all have their hand out to get their card. Afraid they would miss something.
Job Fairs are just one place that you can pass out your business card. How about Spring and Fall Home Shows, Sporting events, Flea Markets etc. Anywhere you have groups of people is a place you could be passing out your Business Card, and it is something anyone can do!
Thank You
