Four Steps Needed To Have A Revival For America

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land". 11 Chron. 7:14

Our forefathers who signed The Declaration Of Independence, were highly influenced by the Great Awaking that took place during their time. They were very religious men, who had a strong love for God almighty. They, as well as our earlier presidents, were Christians who loved God with all of their hearts. When it came to passing laws, they based their decisions on what the Bible had to teach. They were not the only ones that had a desire for God. So did the early Americans, where talking about God was their main communication. Even many of the colleges, including Harvard, were formed to train ministers to preach the gospel. However, today we have left those religious morals and need to follow the following four steps to see a Revival For America.

If we are ever going to see a Revival For America, the first thing that we need to do is to humble ourselves. The Bible tells us that �all have sinned.� We need to humble ourselves and realize that we have done things that are wrong. Our very desires are to do things that are wrong. We can not base what is right and wrong based on what our desires are. Just because I desire a certain life style does not make it right. It could well be wrong.

 The second thing we need to do to have a Revival For America, is to spend time in prayer. Prayer is just simply talking to God. We need to pray that God would change our hearts. The reason why we do things that are wrong, is because our hearts are not right. They need to be changed and only God can do that. We need to pray for our friends and family. We also need to pray for our nation and our leaders. Pray that they would make the right choices. Pray that this nation would return to God and make laws that are based on the morals of the Bible.

The third thing that we need to do to see Revival For America is to seek God. God does not desire religion. He desires relationship. Just because you are born in a certain religion or denomination, does not mean that you know God or have a relationship with him. We need to seek God and ask him to reveal Himself to us. We need to read a Bible for ourselves and see what God is like. We need to read the Bible to learn the way to heaven. We need to read the Bible to know what is right or wrong. Just because you were taught something as a child, does not make it right. We need to seek God through prayer and the Bible to learn what the truth really is.

The forth thing that we need to do to see Revival For America, is to turn from our ways. If God say's that something is wrong, we need to stop doing it. He is to be Lord of everything, or He is not Lord at all. We can not do things our ways, we need to do things His way. Anything that does not please him, we need to stop doing it. If it is an area that you struggle in, ask Him for his help. You can do that by asking him to forgive you and invite him to live inside of you. He will answer that prayer and change your heart, giving you a desire to do what is right.

If you want to see Revival For America it will need to start with you. We will see revival when our hearts are turned back toward God. If you desire a personal relationship with God, repeat the following prayer: Jesus I have sinned against you. I have done what was right in my own eyes, even if it was displeasing to you. Please forgive me. I choose this day to follow you and make you Lord of everything. Come into my life, fill me with the Holy Spirit and change my heart so that I will have a desire to do that which is right. In Jesus name I pray.
