The Root of Poor Health (And How We Can Fix It)


In modern society, having major health issues has become the new normal. In the US, more than 20 million people now suffer from diabetes, 800,000 people have strokes, 1.64 million get cancer, 1.19 million suffer from heart attacks and there are 450,000 new cases of Alzheimer�s EACH YEAR. Each day in the US, $1 Billion is spent on healthcare related to obesity and the accompanying diseases and 4,000 people die from those same diseases.


Why am I telling you all of this? The point here is this...good health is in short supply in our modern society. When looking at the prevalence of disease, illness, and generally poor health, it makes sense to look for the cause so that we can combat the problem.

Each year billions of dollars of research are conducted to find out the cause for this spike in health issues. After 40 years, we still don�t have great answers from the scientific community. I have formulated a few thoughts about this problem and how we can begin to address it.

I don�t believe it is from a lack of education about healthy habits, nor the large amounts of sugar and additives in our food. It also isn�t just about genetically modified food or pesticides. Rather, I believe the cause of this massive epidemic of poor health is�wait for it�us and our own habits! I know this might sound harsh, but let me tell you why I think this. We ask our physicians to heal us without wanting to put in work ourselves. We ask prescription drug companies to fix what ails us while we don�t address our own lifestyle habits. We look for programs that allow us to lose weight without giving up things that we know aren�t good for us. We need to take responsibility for our actions and make those changes that put us in control of our own lives. And you know what, we can do it�together!

If we put bad food in, we will get a body that underperforms. If we continually consume bad food, we will get a body that becomes ill from chronic issues. If we don�t exercise, our body will slow down and feel sluggish. If we lack exercise chronically, we are sure to suffer from higher risks of high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer�s, and other diseases.

If we don�t properly supplement our food choices to fill in nutritional gaps or improve our bodily functions, we won�t reach our full potential physically or mentally! If we avoid supplements, we will wind up with deficiencies that will allow for faster aging (both mentally and physically), decrease our metabolism, create hormonal imbalances, and cause digestive issues. We need to take responsibility for our health and control our own destinies!

When it comes to getting the most out of the body and mind we are given, I would recommend employing a complete wellness strategy. A strategy that includes a good diet, regular exercise, and proper supplementation�all combined strategically to generate an outcome that we want and that will improve our health and well-being.
