How to Rise Above the Rut of Your Routine!
Laundry on Monday. Marketing on Tuesday. Bake on Wednesday ... ect. Many people find a routine comforting, as it gives them some feelings of control in their life.
What on sneak up on us and catch us unaware, however, is an emotional rut that leaves us feeling empty and uninspired.
If you are having these feelings, consider finding a time either weekly or daily to expand your horizons a bit and make a minor shift in your routine.
A fresher outlook will help you to rise above your rut and the feelings that go with it.
The first step in rising above the rut of your routine is to spend some quit time reflecting and dreaming a bit.
Notice what pops up in your head: it may be something youve been longing to do, but simply have continued to put off.
This is the first baby step in learning to live from the source of your inspiration as opposed to staying in the gridlock of your routine.
Some people are a bit structure-stiff. They never deviate from their day-to-day routine, which makes them feel safe.
These people can lack fresh inspiration, look more tired and older every year, and never appear to feel enriched or excited about living.
While there are certainly parts of our routines such as school schedules, athletic practices, and work schedules that are rarely negotiable, you can sometimes find some small chunks of time that may be.
Consider learning a new language or a new marketing strategy; dare to dream of visiting that country and getting to know the people there.
Take up yoga. I was watching the Kati Show today with Mrs. Baldwin she show how to alter your exercise routine.
There are thousands of possibilities.
It is amazing how making one small shift, in what seems an insignificant gesture, can inspire and uplift your spirit.
This feeling will spill over into other areas of your life as you send your unconscious mind the message that you are open to new possibilities.
