As you may or may have not noticed, the hospitals are monopolizing all the health care, converting all health care facilities in this country to corporately governed institutions rather than medical governed institutions.
Hospitals are forming networks by buying up all the medical offices and medical facilities creating huge networks. Even the primary care physicians are being bought up thus becoming employees of the Hospital network.
What this means to you is that your physicians and facilities belonging to these networks are told how to treat you and more importantly what they tell you. There are some things that the now corporate office will not let them tell you about your own body.
The big thing now is sales, sales, and more sales of hospital services, and test (expensive test) and member services. Proper treatment of you, is really out the window because your physician, who is now owned by the network and gets his paycheck from the network, has extreme limitations that greatly increase your risk and prevent you from having proper medical advice and guidance. Some even use fear tactics to convince you to undergo some expensive surgeries and procedures. I was told I needed an LVAD heart pump which is very risky open heart surgery.
My family researched it thoroughly and as a result, I told them I would not have that surgery. My feeling was that in their mind, they are thinking I am 76 years old, I have lived a full life, so not much is lost if the surgery is not successful.
Some doctors are considering leaving the country and going where they can truly follow their training and help people.
Think about it the next time you are admitted to a hospital. All kinds of consultants are called in to examine you. These consultants are owned by the network and your discharge instructions will instruct you to make a follow up appointment with that/those medical firms that attended you.By the way you are charged for these visits. If you are on Medicare, Katie bar the door!!
In my case, while in the hospital I woke up from a sleep and 3 mustached Muslim doctors, who were kidney specialist, were staring down and smiling at me like I was an infidel on a sandwich. Needless to say I made no appointment with them and went to a different kidney specialist.
The medical malpractice law firms are probably loving this, because there will be a lot of incidents that will be classified as medical malpractice as a result of the corporate people calling medical shots.
To further complicate matters we also have our medical care insurance companies practicing medicine, but someday the medical networks will own them also.
