My husband and I are avid woodworkers. We've been scroll sawing for about 10 years. We don't usually make things for ourselves, as we go to craft fairs and make things for other people.
But, I knew we would be home-bound this winter, since Luke had a hip replacement in November. So, in the fall, I found some clip art of cartoon characters. I printed them out, made copies, then cut them out of wood. Most of them are about 10-12 inches tall. This winter, I painted some of them, getting ready to put them outside in my flower garden. I don't do well with flowers, so I decided to have critters instead.
I've got Sylvester and Tweety Bird , Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and of course Donald Duck, Snoopy, Garfield and a few unnamed characters.

Now that the LONG winter is behind us, I put these guys outside in front of my house. We just purchased our home last year, so it's kinda neat to be able to put things around outside. We made our own shutters! He cut out the slats, and I cut and painted the Teddy Bears (my passion), and we hung them!
Am working on some gnomes that I want to put out in the back yard under our big tree. Luke's going to make a gnome door for the tree! Wonder who will be hiding inside that door!!!!!!!
Well, besides taking care of the ole hubby during his ordeal, I painted my flower garden! Hey, I guess I could make some flowers to put in there too! What an idea!
