What make good Christmas gifts for children - or presents for whatever occasion? I think it needs to be useful. It should not be a one day wonder with no lasting value. If it is something the child will treasure for a long time, better still. If it engages both the kid and the parents, it's great. If it helps children to believe in their own unique greatness, it's a winner.
This is my choice - I'm So Proud Of.
What is it?
It is a 52 page book with motivational sayings for children, but it's more than a book. The book contains over 40 motivational sayings on the front and back covers, and imprinted on all the inside pages is the phrase, "I am the best." With it comes 100 custom sticky notes to be used by parents.
How does it work?
The notes look like the image below. On the note you as parent write the kid's name and the reason you are proud of him or her. If the child is old enough, you put the note somewhere for the child to find. Then it is placed in the book. For babies, you skip the searching and just put the note in the book.
Why is it so great?
By writing a note to your child, he/she will have a written record that documents just how much they are appreciated. And the more they are reminded how wonderful they are and how much you appreciate them, the better the result will be.
