Internet marketers in specific and business owners in general seem to make their own path.  We have cookie cutter systems, mentors, eyes and ears to see and hear with.  Still we wonder if there is a better way.   (And there usually is. We grow through setbacks and challenges.)

It seems that we design our own particular path.  We observe our results; we learn from others in our business, we ask questions of those we trust.  When our actions come, they have been through our particular passion filtering system.  Our actions show our passions.  The difference between our sales or service and the one across the street, or in the Goggle listing below us--or above us, is in our passions.  We are more alike than we are different.  Our passions are made of all of the fibers of who we are.  So our results reflect our passions.

Passion is sometimes referred to as "burning" passion.  To make a burning fire from a simple spark requires two things: oxygen and fuel.  Similarly, to create a burning passion you need (oxygen) a dream and a plan, and (fuel) consistent action.  You give attention to all three to keep your passion burning.

You know what happens when you allow inattention to creep in.  The path you forged gets narrower and appears harder.  Your neighbors path seems inviting.  Your dream becomes a memory and you become a slave to whatever is.

The secret to staying out (or even getting out) of this situation is awareness of what is happening now.  Is your oxygen getting low?  Is fuel a bit sparse?   Build the fire; ignite the passion.  Forge your path.  Leave a road for others to see while they build their own.

At this point, I think that is right.
