Forget Soy, Mostly! My Prostate Cancer Victory Journey

Well, I'm supposing this blog will mostly be a journal of my 'journey'.  My hope is that in sharing my experience and what I've learned, others may stay healthy or regain their health. So my comments will be varied and mostly related health and lifestyle.

Most anyone can become disease free, holistically.  So here we go,,,

For men,  testosterone feeds prostate cancer.  So gents, unless you are for sure cancer free, watch the testosterone supplements.  Before I was aware the presence of my cancer, I was feeding the cancer cells through the T-supplementation.

Now on to SOY...
All soy, including soy milk, should be avoided by all humans.  If you are going to consume soy, be sure it is organic non-GMO.  Soy contains two natural drugs: Genistein and Daidzein

Both Genistein and Daidzein act so similarly to estrogen,  they are known as phytoestrogens or plant-produced estrogens.

When men consume these Genistein and Daidzein compounds in high enough quantities, they may experience a gender-bending challenge.

Studies of the phytoestrogens in leading medical journals suggest that even low doses, even in the amount of 25-grams of soy protein target as cited by the FDA will have the potential to wreak havoc on your hormones.

Why?  Because soy can decrease a man's testosterone production and increase his estrogen production, (estrogen is the female hormone).   Avoid any products containing soy including breads, cakes and processed foods, store-bought prepared meals, vegan soy products, soy burgers and sausages and any products using soy flour as an emulsifier.  Avoid these additional foods: miso soup, soy sauce, edamame, and tofu.

HOWEVER if you're situation parallels mine...
Normally, I had eliminated as much soy from my diet
as possible.  But after learning from my urologist that the prostate cancer cells feed on testosterone (he wanted me to do Lupron hormone therapy, which is chemical castration, to stop testosterone production - no way Jose) I've broken the NO SOY rule, at least temporarily.

Until next time I bid you good health.
Frank
