Word of Caution To 12SC Members
A
few weeks ago I was checking out some items on the site just like I have been
doing for many years and was in process of sending a ticket to Mr. Graham for
an answer or clarification by clicking on the Contact Us button, But inadvertently let the cursor get too close
to the Cancel button (directly
below) and without realizing what I had done canceled out my long standing
subscription.
I immediately called Mr. Graham and he asked why did you cancel
your membership? I said that I did not click on that button and he answered
that is the only way to cancel, He was able to salvage my account but advised
that all of my advertising, capture pages, tracking links and others probably
could not be retrieved or restored but he would talk with his programmers and
ask if they possibly retrieve all of this data and put it back. After a couple
of days Mr. Graham advised that he was told that there was no way to restore
what I had lost.
Now my only option is to start all over from scratch. I had wrongly assumed that with various back up programs, Sequel Server backups and logs there was little or no chance of such a wipe out.
If you are a member and have some substantial efforts in the program this is what you must do just as I am starting to do:
I have purchased a 1TB USB portable drive strictly to save screen shots or copies of labor intensive capture pages, text and display ads. This would help to recreate your favorite works; at least it would provide you with a template or a pattern.
Regardless of all the complications and misunderstandings remember to be extra cautious and be ready for whatever might possibly happen!!
