You Should Learn More About Your Drinking Water

Things We Should All Be Concerned About!!

Here is one thing that really shocked me!

The water that we drink has always seemed adequately tasty and safe to me and usually never gave it a second thought when reading about lab tests and things that happen in and to our streams because I know that it will be filtered and treated. Even when there is a news announcement regarding a huge multi thousand gallon raw sewage spill or dump into the lake or river where the water is channeled to the reservoir where our drinking water is collected for filtering and treatment so you think oh well they will treat enough to make it safe for human consumption.

This prompted me to purchase an under counter filter with replacement cartridges to filter the drinking water a little more. Later I learned this�. After the treatment is completed it is then piped to a large elevated tank in or near your vicinity for storage of your drinking water just as it has forever. This sounds OK but my curious mind told me to research the conditions of these holding tanks in all cities, towns and municipalities of the civilized parts of the world. Maybe this will satisfy you to this point but I wanted to know more about the condition of all this water that I drink every day 365 days of the year. You will have to do your own research after this because I cannot cover everything everywhere. I found that some of the very large cities have a rotated maintenance cleaning schedule and make an effort to clean the inside of each tank every five years. Some tanks are so huge that they use scuba divers and manual equipment because they cannot close the valves and drain all of the water out of these domestic monster tanks or the entire town would be without domestic drinking water for days while cleaning and refilling. I also learned that there has to be adequate venting and air infiltration for the water to get into the system. Illustration: �Put your mouth over a glass soda bottle and try to blow or suck air into the bottle� this should explain the need for venting and getting the water into the pipes for transit to your residence or business. There is much more that you should know but I will not get into divulging the gory and gross occurrences re: pigeons, bats and all of the diseases and waste findings during a scheduled elevated domestic water holding tank.
