Yup. I wouldn't have thought of it but I found several recipes for making Potato Chips
. They are very simple to make and taste great! There are a couple of ways to do them. You can use the oven or the microwave. Both start out the same way. Wash your potato and peel it if you like. I usually don't. I leave the skin on. Then slice it very thin with a mandolin or if you don't have a mandolin, use the potato peeler to slice your potato. Put the potato slices in a bag or bowl with some olive oil and toss to coat. You can salt them or use whatever seasoning you like on there. Maybe some paprika or cayenne or garlic salt. Experiment with them.

Experiment with them. Then take either a baking sheet or stone and oil it. Put the slices in a single layer on your baking sheet and put them in the oven at 400 for about 20 min. They will probably take longer but start checking at 20 min. They are done when they are brown and the edges curl up.
For the microwave - oil a plate or use parchment paper, you can use that on the baking sheet too, and lay out your potato slices. Microwave for about 3 min depending on your microwave. Mine come out pretty good at 3 min usually. I've gone as long as 4 or 5.
You can also put them in the oven for 20 to 25 min and finish them off in the microwave. I just did that and they came out really nice. Crisp and tasty.
