Keep Your Eggs In Multiple Baskets

Hello, My name is Mike Lyles, I am the founder and one of the Lead Trainers of the Winning Team Professionals (http://winningteampros.com) .

I created The Winning Team Professionals Support, Training, and Tools site about six years ago to help those that are new to Network Marketing that need Training, Support, and the Tools to build their chosen Network Marketing Business.

The Winning Team Professionals has grown over the years to become an International Team that the Sun never completely set on. The Winning Team has become a Team of hundreds of successful Network Marketers dedicated to helping those that have a dream but due to the lack of Support, Training, Tools, and a system have found it very difficult to achieve the success they dream of or thought they were going to have when they joined the Network Marketing program that they have. Most of these networkers have quickly become disheartened and have lost faith in what in my opinion is the best industry PERIOD.

It doesn't matter what networking business or opportunity they are a part of The Winning Team Professionals can and will help them to become successful. Our Team is dedicated to helping them to success and to maintaining and building the reputation of the Network Marketing Industry.

I have been involved in Network Marketing for over forty years now, and I must admit that in the beginning I struggled and floundered, and even failed a time or two. I, however, have learned a lot of valuable lessons and learned how to build a successful Networking Business. More importantly I have learned the things that need to be done in order to accomplish what all networkers dream of, A dependable and residual income stream that meets my needs.

I do want to share some of my experience and a very valuable lesson. I call this lesson "do not put all of your eggs in one basket".

Forty years ago I did not have any Idea what Network Marketing was and definately did not know how to build such a business. What I did know was that even though I worked for a large corporation and had successfully climbed the "Corporate Ladder", that the closer I moved to the "TOP" the closer I was to the door. My sense of security was growing smaller with each advancement I achieved. I began to realize that the only way I could ever have "Job Security" was to own my own company.

There was two big problems that I soon realized that were preventing me from Owning my own company and being able to take control of my own future.

First of all I did not have the finances to start up a company large enough to provide me with the residual income and security that I wanted. And second while I knew my bosses business and how to run my assigned departments I lacked the knowledge and experience to run an entire company and all of the many different departments that made up the whole company.

I began to do research and one day saw an ad in the newspaper that was intriguing enough for me to call the number. To make a long story short I talked to a man that invited me to his house to show me a home based business and how to build my financial future selling a thing called a home computer. Neither I nor anyone else was familiar with such an appliance, and really didn't know what I would do with one. Two hours later after enduring the worst presentation ever, I began to see that there was money to be made and possibly a future to be built. In any event I knew that I could put on a much more professional presentation than my host had done.

I left his house with a handful of brochures and other reading material and went home to spend the longest night staring at the ceiling and replaying the figures and other information that I had seen that night. By morning I couldn't wait to call up my host and tell him that I wanted to join his MLM or network marketing business.

Jump ahead a couple of months and I had built a network all over the South Eastern United States and was making a fairly nice income.

That is when I learned lesson ONE. "Never put all your Eggs in one basket". I was doing very well and didn't see the need to continue searching for other network marketing companies. I had a good income, and I worked for myself with no BOSS to tell me when to come or when to go. I felt I had achieved the security I was looking for.

Then came that fateful day when I received a letter from the company that was supplying the computer products we were selling. The letter said that they were no longer in business and I no longer had a supplier. Along with that news I realized that I essentially no longer had a company or and income. Basically my one basket with all my eggs in it and just spilled and broken all of my security eggs.

I was very dissapointed. I did realize that the networking business was not at fault and that I could make it work if I did some adjusting to my business plan. I vowed that I would build my network back but I would use several different networking companies to supply me with products and services. I would deversify so that if one company failed It would not drastically affect my bottom line and my income would continue. This turned out to be a very good philosophy that has served me well to this day.
