What I have found most challenging as a single mom working online after learning and studying the language was how do I spend my time? Okay I have made up my mind to do this online marketing thing and understand all that I need to accomplish, but there is so much! What do I do first? How do I put this all together? How do I apply all the different skills one needs to learn to be a good online marketer? How do I do it effectively?
Those were the big questions for me, because I only had so much time. I dont want to be doing
the wrong things that look like I am working, but not be effective. I did find a
mentor with 12 Second Commute and that was the key that had me be able to put
this all together. I have all the tools and system in one place, which allows me to be highly effective. Wow! I remember when I was starting out in insurance and I would go to
work everyday. I would go through my
leads, I would call perspective clients, set some appointments. I would get
all my papers organized; I would talking with the other guys in the office
about different products, I would go to training and study. Though it
looked like I was doing all the right things my colleagues were making money! No but I mean they were making real money like
$7k-$20K/month that was back in the 80's. While my money was just
dribbling in. Sound familiar? What was worse was we had big leader boards where
everyone could see what everyone else was doing. I was about 12 months into the industry but I still wasnt really making a living for myself and children. I remember
looking around and saying it looks like I am doing the same things they are, I
am calling I am studying, I am seeing clients, but their result is different then mine, what
am I missing, there is a huge gap here. What are they doing that I am not doing, what is in this gap? My question was
why! So I ask if I could set up appointments for them. If they would allow me to go out with them and give the presentation, they said sure! So I did just that! First I needed to set 12-15 appointments /week, for them to go, that was key.
It was then that I began to see, just how operated. First they began building a rapport, a relationship with the client and I suspected after a while that it didnt just start when we entered their home. It started with the appointment setting. My friends were genuinely interested in the clients, they wanted to know what they needed. They asked them questions, they listened to the client when they gave their sales presentation they knew that sales presentation inside and out and fit it to each prospective customer. Then applied the sales product that was appropriate to each clients needs. Every move they made was calculated, but it was and felt natural, they were comfortable with themselves and what they were doing.
When working with their clients, they had a plan to assist their customer and that was in the
forefront of their mind. They also knew that
not everyone would buy, so they were okay with that. Why because they had set themselves
up to win by having enough appointments each day and confirming those appointments. They had a plan and stuck with it, everyday. They did a little bit everyday, motivational training, studying product, presentation, calling, asking for referrals. Like clockwork never missing a beat!
We have the same challenge here in network marketing it is about reaching out to our customer. But we also must have a plan. We have to know the numbers and be realistic about what we are doing. That is the key to any business and so it is here.
What do I mean? Ok, If you are a single mom working from home on a shoestring budget you need to know that you are going to need to put in more time on traffic exchanges, put out drop cards whenever you go out to the store or to the mall or to the kids events, or be on face-book, sharing yourself and your links, or whatever vehicle you choose to get in front of people. You are going to need to put in the time you will have to be consistent with whatever vehicle you choose to connect with people, you will need to be diligent in tracking your ads, so you know what works and what doesnt.
You are going to have to be realistic with
yourself and your goals. Know approximately, how many clicks it will take each
day for you to send out x number of e-mails,
solo ads, or text ads to be able to reach x customers and receive x- amount of
perspective clients. How long will that take you? You will need to plan it out so you take a small chunk each day and know it will all happen doing the right things.
Key is to learn the trade, if you dont know it. Then apply what you are learning until you are comfortable with it. Make a plan and set your goals for each week, how much time you will spend each day or week in your business. Find someone to work with that will show you the ropes it does help and makes life much sweeter! Once I saw and applied what my colleagues where doing, I became very successful and I really learned to enjoy my job and working with people my most profitable month I made $26K. You can do that here too if you apply yourself, learn and if you're starting out get a mentor.
If you are looking for a mentor I would love to assist you, please let me know what you think of this post and let me know what you are struggling with, I maybe able to help!
