Traffic Exchanges also known as TEs in the online marketing world. Traffic is the lifeblood of any website. Whatever your website is or does, without traffic it will not work. Traffic exchanges (TEs) were created with the lofty goal of allowing the users to gain a steady stream of traffic to their website. Now that being said how do you use them.
The philosophy of a traffic exchange is simple: You visit someone else's website (splashpage), in exchange, someone else visits your website (splash page) we call this surfing. Every traffic exchange has their own control panel for you to be able to see the splash page. Also every traffic exchange (there are hundreds, just google traffic exchange) has their own theme or twist but they all work off of the same premise, you are able to see someone else's opportunity and they yours. We call this surfing the exchange.
Most every traffic exchanges are free to sign up. They will ask you for your name and an e-mail address. The e-mail address that you give, Now this is very important so listen up the e-mail that you give them should be specifically for receiving these e-mails from the traffic exchanges, because your inbox will be flooded with e-mails in a matter of days hundreds. I use something called viral in-box to keep my traffic exchanges in order. When I tried to use my g-mail I just got very unorganized and it was very frustrating for me. Click here http://www.12path.com/blogvib/viral/ and it will allow you to down load the viral in box to keep you organized. I love it. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
The e-mails that you receive in your inbox once you open them will allow you to click on them and receive credits, most exchanges will do a ratio: something like 1:1 or 2:1. (so for every splash page you review they will allow you to e-mail someone from their list to see your e-mail ) those credits that you build up will allow you to send e-mails to traffic ex-changes's list or members, some have over 200K members.
To regress a bit, when you sign up for a traffic exchange immediately you will be given an opportunity to sign up as a paid member and they will give you a very nice one time offer also known as and (OTO). Depending on your strategy you can either accept or decline but you will not be given that offer again. Being a paid member gives you many more benefits and allows you to e-mail more often and send out more e-mails at a time so depending on your marketing strategy and budget . After your one time offer you will move to the dashboard of the platform and began looking at their set up they are all a little different but they are all going for the same thing, looking at other peoples website (splash pages). It may seem a little overwhelming at first but just look around you will have a place to put your link(URL) so that you can advertise, your banners, text ads. There will be a place for you to begin surfing. You will be required to look at the ad for a minimum amount of time usually between 10-30seconds as a paid member less time required. In many exchanges they have little pictures at the top of the page and they ask you to click on the matching picture before you receive your credits. If you are a free member you may only be able to send out so many e-mails per day or week to their list say (250/day-1000/wk). Remember every exchange is a little different.
Exchanges are great for people that are starting out who don't have a lot of money to spend on advertising and need to build a list or want people to visit their site or both. This could be part of your marketing strategy.
Many people get frustrated in the beginning who don't understand how to use the TE's. Here are some key pointers to using exchanges (TE's)
One rule of thumb is you only have an average of 15 second to gets someones attention. So don't put a lot of content for them to read.
Use a splash page because it down loads quickly, websites take to long. You should almost always be using a splash pages to introduce yourself anyway. There is a lot of marketing and psychology behind this but that is for another day.
Use bright and large letters and attention grabbing Headliners, use an opt-in-form. Remember you are only trying to get their attention, and for them to opt into your splash page. This is a numbers game so don't try and sell them your wares at this time. You will have plenty of time to introduce your product later once they have opted in. You are saying STOP LOOK WHAT I HAVE COME CHECK IT OUT!
I use my picture on my introduction page so they know I am a real person. Connecting is the key here for them to opt in.
Now I hope that this article gives you some idea about traffic exchanges and how they can be used to assist you. This is just the tip of the ice-berg regarding TE's there is so much more that you can learn about making money, becoming part of forums and communities that I would love to give to anyone that would like to find out more just e-mail me and I will send it out to you for free it has been a very great resource for me.
