New Legislation May Change The Process

Canada is making the news just now with it's Anti-Spam Laws about to go into effect.  The U.S. marketers need to pay attention because this law has a long reach and will surely impact some of our local marketers.

An article written by Andrew Barrett and published through http://www.icontact.com/blog/what-casl-means-for-icontact-customers/ goes into great detail about the enforcement of Canada's Anti-Spam Law that goes into effect in July of this year.  Even though the article is written on behalf of iContact and addresses Canadian emailers, we, in the United States, should pay close attention in order to avoid the negative impact this law could have on us.

eMailers may need to identify recipients who reside in Canada.  These specific receivers will need to verify anew their permission statement for the sender.  Organization and good record keeping has reached an all time high in importance.
