Colossians 2:6-8 (New King James Version)

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit,according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

 Reflections:

There are a host of voices vying for our attention: �Think like this!� �No, no, think like this!� It makes one�s head start to spinin�. The closer these voices are to the Bible the harder they are to discern. Why is it that we have literally thousands of different �Christian� denominations in the world today? It�s really quite simple. Satan has built huge and clever deceptions in an attempt to make it as difficult as possible to find the proverbial pea in the shell game of life.

 So what chance do we have of finding the pea (truth)? Well, this is really quite simple also. The truth ALWAYS lies in the person of Jesus Christ and His FREE gift of salvation extended to whosoever will come to Him. The ultimate truth is �Jesus Christ and Him crucified (John 14:6; 1 Cor 2:2).� Truth does not lie in divine tradition as some teach, nor does it lie in religious good works programs. The do�s and don�ts of religion simply DO NOT work spiritually!

 God has seen fit to freely give us the very best teacher we could ever possibly have; the Holy Spirit (John 14:26; 1 John 2:26-27)! He doesn�t teach religious tradition and He never compromises to any of the world�s standards � as men so often do -- we don�t mean to, but nonetheless we do. The Holy Spirit, and only He, remains true. This is because He is the essence of truth.

  Always remember, that even though our adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour, through religious deception and lies, that we have the Holy Spirit who will ALWAYS lead us into truth as we continue to seek the Lord with all our heart �
