Psalm 87:7 (NKJV)
6 The LORD will record, when He registers the peoples: This one was born there. Selah 7Both the singers and the players on instruments say, All my springs are in you.
Reflections:
A spring is a flow of water from out of the ground. Flow from a spring can range from the barely detectable all the way to more than 7,900 gallons per second. Temperatures of spring water range from near water's freezing point right up to its boiling point.
In arid regions, such as a dessert, a spring is life to the one who finds it, for without water (in a desert) life would only last a few days. It is second only to air in the list of basic body needs. Without water everything would eventually wither and die.
Biblically or spiritually speaking, water symbolizes the Holy Spirit (Jn 7:37-39; Isaiah 44:3; Joel 2:28-29). Jesus spoke of living water flowing out from our innermost being (our belly).
This is also the heart-felt testimony of all true believers today. Weve tried it the worlds way and, sure enough, we withered and almost died. Now we too gratefully proclaim All our springs are in You
