Psalm 31:12 (KJV)
12I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
Reflections:
This verse can apply to so many different situations. Weve all passed through lifes lonely agony and some of us are at this broken point in our lives even today. I just want to remind you, that as a child of God, youre never forgotten and youre never not loved.
We may feel like a broken vessel, no longer good for anything, but God can give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified (Isa 61:3).
God is more of a father than any human father could ever be; more of a mother, sibling or friend. In humanity we find these roles to be failed reflections of Gods character and nature because of sin. But to be Father-ed by God himself is to receive everything that weve ever needed so that we can be whole at last. Gods specialty is the mending of broken, forgotten vessels better than new!
We mustnt be discouraged. Its time to dry the tears. Its time to look up! The world may have chewed us up and spit us out, but God wants to write a brand new chapter in our lives. Are we willing? He is
