15 Wherefore I also 16 do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention [of you] at my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you [the] spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of him, 18 being enlightened in the eyes of your heart, so that ye should know what is the hope of his calling, [and] what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Reflections:
In verse 18, being enlightened in the eyes of your heart, does not mean perceiving with our natural mind, but rather with our spirit. More specifically, the Holy Spirit is speaking truth into our spirit-heart.
These spiritual truth revelations find their way into our conscious mind and we have opportunity to decide what we will do with them. We can apply these truths by faith and reap amazing spiritual benefits or we can simply ignore them.
Its so important to remember that the Holy Spirit, while leading us, will never violate the Bible. The devil on the other hand will do everything he can to deceive us; just like he did with Eve in the garden. This is why its so important to know our Bibles. Without this biblical frame of reference were like sitting ducks.
Jesus said, The wind blows wherever it wants to. You hear it, but you dont know where it is coming from or where it is going. It is the same with everyone who is born from the Spirit (John 3:8). This is speaking about us!
We are called to be a spiritual people; a people led about by the Holy Spirit. So if we havent as of yet surrendered to His leading, perhaps now is the time to begin the adventure of our lifetime
