2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (KJV)
3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
Reflections
Its so hard to lose someone we love. Words seem so thin when trying to console someone who is at such a painful point of loss. At times like these only God can heal and He does and He will
Perhaps the words to this song will bring some small bit of comfort to those who are at this time suffering loss. "I'll Walk with God" is a popular song published in 1954. This song is best known from the movie The Student Prince, in which the title character performs this song at the coffin of his grandfather, the king of Carlsburg:
I'll Walk with God from this day on.
His helping hand I'll lean upon.
This is my prayer, my humble plea,
May the Lord be ever with me.
There is no death, tho' eyes grow dim.
There is no fear when I'm near to Him.
I'll lean on Him forever
And He'll forsake me never.
He will not fail me
As long as my faith is strong,
Whatever road I may walk along.
I'll Walk with God, I'll take His hand.
I'll talk with God, He'll understand.
I'll pray to Him, each day to Him
And He'll hear the words that I say.
His hand will guide my throne and rod
And I'll never walk alone
While I walk with God.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted (Matt 5:4).
