12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:
Hosanna!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
The King of Israel!
Reflections:
After Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem he entered the temple and cleansed it by turning over the moneychangers tables and casting out all the merchants. This, and many other things that Jesus did, infuriated the Pharisees and ultimately led to his crucifixion and gloriously to his resurrection from the dead.
After Jesus ascension he was seated at the right hand of the father (Heb 1:3) to make intercession for us (Heb 7:25).
The questions Id like to pose today are:
Have we allowed Jesus a full triumphal entry into our hearts? Or is there still that sin that so easily besets us in operation within us; the one that mocks us as a hypocrite?
Have we allowed Him to cleanse all the worlds junk out of our temple?
Have we died to Him and are we seated in heavenly places with Christ? Or are we still very much earth-bound?
Have we yielded our lives for others, to love, to lead them to saving faith in Christ, to earnestly pray for them?
Its good to take temple-inventory once every so often
