25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
26 My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Reflections:
We read that in the last days mens hearts would fail them because of fear (Lk 21:26). Were there! Fear of the economy, fear of tomorrows, fear of men, of war, of famine, disease the list goes on and on
Thank God that there is a peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:7) even in the worst trouble spots of life. Its a peace that is based on the love that God has for us, his children. These words of Jesus: I will never leave you or forsake you (Heb 13:5) can bring an enduring security and strength to the human heart that believes.
We can cast all our cares on Him for He cares for us (1Pet 5:7). And if God is for us who can be against us (Rom 8:31)? Its easy to say, I have faith in God, but when hard times comes the quality of our faith can be sorely tested. For those who put on their armor (Eh 6:10-18) and stand their faith-ground, the God of all the ages comes to show Himself faithful always!
And then theres that wonderful verse in Rom 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Fear verses peace is simply a faith choice As for me, I choose Gods strength for my heart as my portion
