Matthew 13:13 (NKJV)

13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

 

Reflections:

Isn�t it amazing how we can share the same gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ with two different people, and one is so excited to hear the good news that they all but jump up and down, while the other just doesn�t get it? What Jesus is saying in our verse today is that even if I didn�t speak in parables they still wouldn�t get it. They�re not going to get it no matter what I say, or how I say it.

 

Why is this? What is it that so veils the message of God�s love so that it can�t be perceived by the vast majority of those hearing it? Well, we can be certain of one thing: Satan�s in on it at some level. Consider this verse: �And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed (John 3:19-20).�

 

Those that think they�re well don�t feel the need to seek out a physician. Jesus came for those that know they�re sin-sick, hurting and desperate; not for the self-righteous. I admit it, I need Jesus Christ in my life! He�s what makes it all worth the living. Oh, if only everyone could grasp this!

 

 

But take heart; there is hope. Life has a way of cycling each person through places of trials and times of desperation. We need to keep on praying for our friends and family that the Holy Spirit will bring them to a place of spiritual encounter with God where they are finally open to see, hear and understand the Good News of Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation.

 

 

At these special moments they too will all but jump up and down and finally understand �
