27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
Reflections:
Oh, theres coming an exciting day, beloved, when we, the church; the bride of Christ, will all be seated at heavens grand banqueting table celebrating the marriage of our Lord Jesus Christ, to his beautiful bride without spot or wrinkle, us!
Lets read what the Bible says about this magnificent event,
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. (Rev 19:6-9).
We dont know what its really going to be like, but we do know it will be out of this world. So let's use our imagination a little. I can see all of heavens host gathered round about as we, the bride, are at last seated with our glorious bridegroom, Jesus.
And then that moment so desired as Jesus stands and lifts his cup, filled with the long awaited fruit of the vine, and affectionately toasts, "I have waited so long." To my beloved bride. I love you.
Filled with the moment we too rise and raise our cups along with Him amidst all the redounding cheers and tears of heavens everlasting joy. And so shall we ever be with the Lord !
Perhaps you would like to imagine and share with us what you see ...

John F. responded to yesterday's "Bible Portion for Today" regarding the burning bush:
Really good points to remember. Sometimes we do try unawares to burn our own bush and end up just lighting our own hair on fire!

"These
days God is pleased with faith and obedience. Those who will act on his
word and act in faith based on the word of God will be blessed.
I
bless the Lord for great men and women, like Mother Theresa, Bill
Graham, David Livingston, who did not wait for an Angel to appear to
them
before reaching out to love some one, or to encourage some one or to preach the Gospel of hope to the lost in the lost continent of Africa. I am sure that even today, if Reinhard Bonnke, who has transformerd the African countries is blessed for stepping out in faith. He rejected the opinions of the dream killers, and the no Sayers who tried to stop his dream and abhor his destiny, just because they where intimidated by his passion, and determinations. These religious who opposed him, wanted him to just agree to fit in the mold of the common man, to stop being so arrogant, and pretentious. That his dream was outrageous, these religious leaders from Germany tried to discourage him in any way they could, but, His love of God, and his passion of the lost was so great that he couldn't listen to them. His own Father, and brother did not encourage him either, He just chose to walk in love toward them, and just allowed God to prove himself to them. The result is wow! These critical folks from the pentecostal church where confused by the fruit of Bonnke's obedience, and perseverance. Compared to their works in Germany, the fruit are full of toxin, poisonous, a dead church with the same unhappy group of heart hardened people who's pleasure is in tearing others more than obeying God's great commission. Bonknke today is rejoicing in his book "Living a life of Fire" that He is glad he did not change the course and miss so much of what God had planned to accomplish through him. Oh, boy! I also am glad that he did not wait for an Angel, or a bush to bun before he decided to go."

"This Bible portion it speaks volumes to me. I especially appreciate your statement And so instead of God initiating we take over and by faith we claim whatever we desire for our own (we light our own bush).
I believe that there are many churches, preachers, and proclaimed Christians who light their own bush, in doing so do the enemies work.
I also realize that there are many Christians that have God ordained gifts, in which they operate in daily, and dont realize they are gifts. Speaking for myself for the majority of my life both before and after accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I was under the impression what come so naturally to me came naturally to everyone. Because of my not realizing these were in actuality God given gifts, it became the source of my frustration in the interactions with others. Only after comprehending, praying and accepting these as God ordained gifts, did I realize others were being offended, and defensive. Although there are many facets to these privileges, parts of the learning process are; turn to God for guidance with the knowledge He bestowed, be silent and wait for instruction, or I also will be doing the work of the enemy."
