Mark 7:20-23 (KJV)

 20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

 

Reflections:

Perhaps it would serve us well today to sincerely use our verse as a checklist of what�s in our hearts. We�ll need x-ray vision to see beyond our facade and into our heart of hearts, but once we ask the Holy Spirit to do a search; we will come face to face with our true identity.

 

We might not like what we discover as we allow the Holy Spirit to turn over all the rocks in our hearts exposing those hidden and secretly treasured sins. To the Christian these are festering boils, responsible for much of our emotional pain and dysfunction; and even physical suffering. The only true solution, in order to find permanent relief, and to gain the victory, is to expose and to lance these hidden pockets of emotional infection allowing the sin-pus to drain away once and for all.

 

If you�ve ever had a boil, in a private place, you know how embarrassing it can be to go and have it lanced. But oh! What a relief it is once it�s over � So let�s do it! Here�s how it�s done:

 

James 5:16 (Amplified Bible )

16Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

 

Once sin is taken out of the dark, exposed to the light and repented of, in the presence of another believer, it loses its power. Once the power over a sin is broken be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to fill the spiritual void that remains with His presence so that he can then renew your mind; transforming it into the mind of Christ �
