2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NKJV)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Reflections:
Its interesting to note that in the Old Testament the Israelites wanted Moses to put a veil on his face because they couldnt handle the glory of God that was beaming from his face. He had so soaked in Gods presence on Mount Sinai, for forty days and nights, that his face shone very brightly (Ex 34:29-35).
In our verse today we read, But we with unveiled face. Hallelujah, we dont need a veil! As we press in and behold the beauty of the Lord, and His holiness, we too soak up His transforming glory into our spirit and as a result we are changed! The more time we spend in His presence, the more we are changed! And you know what? People can actually see it on us!
I notice that as I personally spend intimate time alone with God that it affects absolutely everything about me the way I think the way I respond to people the words I speak everything is affected! Glory in -- Glory out. Now, how about that for a spiritual success formula!
A dear brother once gave me a very special gift. Its a short saying in a simple gold picture frame that hangs in the center of my office wall at home:
