Acts 10:38-39 (KJV)

 38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

Reflections:

�Who went about doing good,� pretty much sums up Jesus pilgrimage on earth. Wherever he went there was life, healings, miraculous acts of divine compassion and many, many parables to help us to understand the heartbeat of heaven. No matter what the cost Jesus obeyed his heavenly Father in all things.

 

It must have been amazing to walk beside him, basking in heaven�s grand anointing. Nothing foiled Him! He could eat comfortably alongside the worst of sinners, hang around with forbidden Samaritans, reach out and touch the diseased as though it was so normal.

 

He could calm any storm, raise the dead to life again and like the apostle John said, �And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen (Jn 21:25).�

 

He gave us all power, over all the works of the enemy, even going as far as to say that we would do greater things than he. God knows most of us are willing, -- but without him, beloved, we can do nothing.

 

We can go around quoting all the leading TV evangelists and read all about Smith Wigglesworth � we can pump up our emotions and generate a lot of  talk praying boldly �in faith,�-- but without that anointing, of the Holy Spirit which breaks the yoke of bondage, we�re just beating the Christian breeze.

 

If you�re like me, you hunger for the real deal. Maybe it�s time to put away all our carnal Christian gimmicks, clich�s and emotional facades and simply wait on the Lord. While we�re waiting we too can �go around doing good� �
