John 10:27-28 (KJV)

 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

 

Reflections:

As our verse says, we as true born-again believers instinctively follow Jesus. We hear His voice within! We can do this because the Holy Spirit has been freely given and lives inside each of God�s children.

 

We must be oh so careful not to follow man�s religious teachings in order to get to know God. Many well meaning folks have been led to eternal destruction in so doing. Religion is the devil�s pied piper, playing a deceptive, surreal tune; ever wooing men to the lake of fire �Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched (Mk 9:48).�

 

Good works, religion and/or philosophy lead straight to the precipice of hell. Salvation comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ as a free gift of grace to a repentant, God-desiring heart. The Bible is to be our only frame of reference to the things of God.

 

There are to be no human mediators between man and God (be it a minister or priest); no systems of appeasing God through religious compliance and no religious trinkets or objects of veneration. Let no man, or religion, deceive you! Only Christ�s sacrifice on the cross meets the full requirement of God unto salvation. This does not come through good works or religious traditions, butonly through the free gift of grace (Eph 2:8,9).

 

Only then can we truly know Him �
