John 14:12 (AMP)
12I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
Reflections:
Now I didnt say this, Jesus did. What do you think He meant? As for me, even though I havent seen as much as I would like to see of Jesus ministry, I believe it means exactly what it says. That brings us to the question, well, just what did Jesus do? Because whatever it was that he did is what were to also be bringing forth in the earth!
He healed people physically, every one of them, 100% of the time.
He performed miracles and they worked, 100% of the time.
He boldly proclaimed truth, no matter what, and confounded everyone with heavenly wisdom, 100% of the time!
He boldly tore apart the gates of hell by casting out demons whenever he came in contact with them, 100% of the time!
You say, well yea but Please, lets not attempt to make excuses as to why this statement of Jesus isnt true. The very same Holy Spirit that dwelt in Jesus dwells in us. If we continually make excuses we cant be steadfastly believing in Him; which seems to be a strong prerequisite here.
Truth be known, weve been conditioned not to believe! The excuses abound:
What Jesus did, in terms of the supernatural, was just to jump start Christianity in the beginning.
The only miracle Jesus does nowadays is the New Birth.
Hes given us medical doctors to keep us well.
Demons really arent an issue to the born-again Christian, so why even bother dealing with them.
Excuses, excuses. Excuses. Ive even made a few up myself when I couldnt figure it out. Whatever happened to steadfastly believing the Word of God? For, me, Im going to take a fresh look at this verse and ask the Holy Spirit to lead me to a greater ministry than even that of Jesus! Or isnt that what he said?
As always, I welcome your comments
