Luke 10:1-19 (KJV)
1After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come 17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name 19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Reflections:
The disciples, as they followed in Jesus footsteps, saw great deliverance and healing miracles. The devils were subject to the authority of Jesus name. We often think of demons as oppressive influences on humans emotionally. But just look at some of the maladies demons were responsible for:
In Matt 12:22 a man, blind and dumb both spoke and saw once the demon was cast out.
In Mark 5:15 a man with a mental disorder was healed once the demon was cast out.
In Lk 13:11-13 a woman who hadnt stood up straight for eighteen years was made straight as the demon departed
There is obviously a connection between devils being cast out and physical healing. When the disciples were sent out by Jesus and came back rejoicing, we can be fairly certain they witnessed and participated in much of the same healing results.
Individual disciples also brought physical healing to folks in Jesus name:
In Acts 3:1-8 Peter and John healed a lame man by the authority in the name of Jesus Christ.
In Acts 8:5-7 Phillip ministered to many who were paralyzed and lame and they were healed in the name of Jesus Christ.
Many healings are done by Paul, through the authority of Jesus Christ, such as a lame man since birth being healed, raising a young man back to life, and others.
Both Jesus disciples then, and we now, have (in the authority of Jesus name) amazing potential to bring about physical healing and miracles either through deliverance from demons, or through a healing prayer spoken by faith in Christs authority.
That Jesus disciples can bring forth healing and deliverance is unquestionable both in scripture and in our time

Domenic commented on yesterday's "Bible Portion for Today regarding being flooded with God's light:
What jumped out at me today was that we would know and understand the HOPE to which He called us. We have hope, Jesus Christ is a living hope. Ron used the word baggage. Yes Jesus came to seek and save that what was lost. He did that for me because I needed it, but now I've come to realize that there is so much more. I try and focus on why did He save me now. What is my purpose my calling, what is it all about anyways? So I press towards the goal. In this world you will have trouble but be of good courage I (JESUS) have overcome the world. I have come to give you life and life more abundantly. I want to experience it all. the good, the bad, the ugly. It's all for a purpose, His purpose. And when it is all said and done, we go to a place He prepared for us. Good Deal!

Peter also commented:
And this scripture in Ephesians 3:14-19 "For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
After walking with my Lord for 30 years, I have come to believe two
things: #1 that I will understand nothing about Him unless it is granted to me by divine revelation, and #2 that the reason for my fears, bitterness, depression, and anger over the years has been my inability to grasp the deep, abiding love that the Lord has for me. To get the revelation that you are loved by Him is the key to everything. "Perfect love casts out fear." 1 John 4:18
