Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Reflections:
Have you ever said to yourself, Well, Im just waiting to find a new place to fellowship, and then Ill be able to get back into the spiritual swing of things. I need others to spur me on. We sometimes use the lack of fellowship as an excuse not to move forward spiritually. Youve probably heard words to the effect that, if were not moving forward spiritually, were probably slowly, but surely, backsliding. Ever wake up one morning, come to your spiritual senses, and say to yourself, How in the world did I ever get so far from God? I feel so dry
One reason for this could well be that we have become way too dependent on others for our spiritual sustenance. When were not fed adequately, by them, we find ourselves beginning to diminish spiritually. What many of us dont realize is that the same Holy Spirit that saved us through the new birth, is the same Holy Spirit that desires to feed us, and quicken us each and every day.
Each one of us is responsible for his or her spiritual growth. When we come to the full realization that the Holy Spirit wants to lead us, guide us, teach us, and empower us to do the will of God -- we begin a spiritual journey so exciting and full that we can earnestly say, along with the apostle Paul that, I (too) can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Why not ask the Holy Spirit to set your feet on a brand new spiritual pathway, and journey with Him alone? Do you know what will most likely happen? Before long people will be coming to you to be fed spiritually. And hopefully you will point them to the Holy Spirit for a real feast
