23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Reflections:
I watched a mountain be removed this week. It was a very large mountain of dirt, I dont know how high, but it was high. Atop it sat a huge bright yellow backhoe; so big it dwarfed its operator. Id never seen one quite so large. I watched as this incredible machine stretched out its long, powerful yellow neck and effortlessly gorged itself with large portions of earth.
It would then rear up its huge neck while pivoting on its tank-like treaded base until it was perfectly lined up with one of those large earth-hauling trucks. Once again it would stretch out its neck so far that I thought it might tip over. It was obvious that the operator was very skillful as he positioned his earth-laden scoop over the dump truck and precisely deposited its load. Again and again it would pivot to and fro like some prehistoric monster devouring the earth as it went.
I watched for a while and began to think how massive this machine really was and how small the operator was in comparison. But it didnt matter! That huge machine carried out its operators every command to a T as he manipulated the various little control levers and pedals before him. Once he had been trained he could speak to that mountain, through that huge machine, and yes, it would be removed.
Were taught in the Bible that we too can speak to the mountains of life and they too will be removed; that is once we learn the spiritual principles (levers and pedals) and how to apply them. The Holy Spirit is our instructor and if we will yield to His training and instruction we too will surely move the mountains of life through the power, and for the glory, of God
