Reflections:
Todays verse is contrasting those who step up to the plate and confess Christ openly, with those that are secret Christians. Ive personally witnessed to a person recently who said, Yes, Im born again, but I dont want anyone to know; please dont tell anybody.
Isnt this denying Christ? Isnt this what our verse is warning us against today? I know, for myself, I want Jesus to stand up on my behalf before the angels, and not to deny me before them. That would be awful!
On the other hand, I dont think God wants us to go around wearing a sign saying Repent or go to Hell on our front and back sides, (if He does Hes going to have to be very clear about it) but I do think, at a minimum, He wants us to always be ready to give a person the reason for our faith (1 Pet 3:15). When its time to be bold God wants us to speak out.
Well know when to do what as the Holy Spirit leads us. When God really speaks to us there really is no question as to whether its him or not. He speaks very clearly within, if well just be open to hear and to be led
