9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Reflections:
To be honest Ive always had a problem understanding verse 13 of this prayer. In that Jesus gave it to us as a model to be followed, and not as something that could become just another vain repetition, I have taken the liberty to paraphrase it for myself so that it would carry a clearer meaning and impact on my heart. I just felt to share it with you today:
Heavenly Father, all praise, glory and honor be unto your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Thank you that you always give me my daily provision.
Forgive me my sins in the same measure as I forgive those that sin against me.
Warn, and strengthen me, by your Holy Spirit, when Satan comes to tempt me to sin.
Thank You for the authority you have given me, in Christ, to overcome all his evil advances.
For your kingdom is far above all wicked principalities; and I am fully persuaded that your power, glory and majesty reigns supreme both now and for evermore. Amen.
