John 8:36 (KJV)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:36 (AMP)
36 So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.
Reflections:
Is there fear in freedom? Most certainly! Why? Because we fear being judged for our actions and are afraid we might do or say something wrong and/or not fit in.
Many a long term prison inmate that has been set free will commit a crime just to be able to return to the security of the prison to which that have become so accustomed.
One of the beauties of becoming a Christian is that we are not only set free from the bondage of sin and death, but we are given the overcoming power of the Holy Spirit so that we can do all things in Christ who strengthens us (Phill 4:13). Even with this (the overcoming power of the Holy Spirit) there is a choice set before us.
We must choose like the little bird in a cage, whose owner has left the door wide open, whether or not we will fly free or stay incarcerated -- in a self-inflicted prison of fear.
I personally was delivered from insecurity and fear as a very young Christian. I simply hid myself in Christ and received, as a gift of grace, a new boldness and strength for my life. But even with that life has been an oft gentle journey over an egg-shell terrain where I have lingered oft at the edge of something new.
Thank God he has always moved me on and caused me to overcome. For this I am most grateful. Come-on now, if Hell do it for me, I know hell do it for you. Jesus has set an opened door before us all Its time to pass through the portals of fear and fly free beloved fly free!!!
